This was a fun commissioned project, a retirement gift given to a highly decorated navy squadron's retiring commander. Lorenzo designed the sculpture making sketches from a photograph of the "Screw Bird" mascot painted on the tail of an airplane. The "Bird" was carved in July of 2003, out of Avocado wood and the "Screw" was Poplar wood. Measures approx. 9" x 13."
